Because PLA has a very low melting temp. If you use PLA it WILL warp, trust me. Stick to PETG.

at a difference of 180-220°C, i really don't think the monitor nor the inside of the cabin will be getting anywhere near hot enough to worry about

well, honestly... i broke it.
but in that process, i found out how it was attached.
there are 4 mounting tabs (red arrows) that you push toward the center of the visor.

Well attempted to remove properly and failed. It broke also but I did wire it all up used the mirror power as I won’t need the lights anyways. I made a bad print and didn’t put the switch in it as it hasn’t came in yet but plan to use it in the final print. I’ll wire the camera in tomorrow and get to see what it’s gonna be like for use. So if anyone wants a in car pic I can post

I printed a phone mount for the ashtray of my mr2 out of PLA, and the first day I had it in there, it got hot enough to deform to not fit the phone anymore. This may be slightly better being in the visor, but it definitely gets hot enough in a cabin to deform PLA.

Pretty cool. I want to do something similar but not mount a screen anywhere, instead, just a front camera with wireless/bluetooth or some such, and a way to view it on phone screen, lol. So, when rdy to park, open up phone, pull up cam feed, park, disconnect, done.
