Nope.

Think about it. High compression ratio = premium fuel is 1970s thinking. If the LGX or any engine required premium for its rated HP and torque, GM / manufacturer would be legally required to indicate that. It's a different story if premium is recommended, which is NOT the case with the LGX.

Unless you have verified data that supports what you posted about "max wide open throttle", you've fallen for the premium fuel sales pitch.

Here is a scenario that has been seen and tested by many tuners. Dyno a fully heat soaked six gen V6 that has had a diet of only 87 octane. Drain fuel and refill with 93 octane with battery disconnected. Reconect battery and drive car to get hot and let the ecm make adjustments to the timing tables. Dyno again fully heat soaked and look at the HP and torque #s, look at the tune on both cars during the dyno sessions to see where the timing #s are . The 93 octane tested session will show more timing than the 87 octane test and more horsepower and torque
