That torque spec with ARP lube is for the nut on the stud. The arp tech i talked to said use any light oil or even arp lube on the threads that go into the block. You dont want to put them in dry.

also to restate if anyone else is reading this.

light lube on the threads going into the block.
the studs should be hand tight.
put the gasket on
put the head on. area around bolt holes should be clean.
put clean washers on the studs.
put arp lube on the back side of the nut and begin torque spec up to 115 ft lbs.

Ok, agreed. You didn’t mention the lube at all and thought it was worth the clarification.

bought a new torque wrench and sure enough my old one was broken. I set the nuts to 100 with the old wrench and they were all slightly over it. I used my new torque wrench and set them to 115. heads, drivetrain and turbo kit are bolted on. I need a good afternoon to wrap it all up and fire the engine.

Flex fuel is installed. Very easy. Noticed once the fuel hoses are connected to the sensor, my tool doesn’t fit in there to unsnap the tabs.

Waiting on wg spring from Amazon to fire it up.

Had a couple min and hit the key. Started up and seems to be good. Once I get some more time, I'll start trouble shooting the meth and start on the movement to e85.

Made a low psi pressure tester to test the MAP, its working. Turns the meth on at like 2 psi and increased flow as PSI raises. All fittings and filter are clean. I have no idea what caused the issue. One thing I havent changed is the wideband o2 sensor. its been through an engine blow up and I'm not sure if it is reading lean when the car isnt. And if thats possible it would only be happening at WOT and not during cruise or idle. ehhh im leaning toward the o2 sensor being fine.

I havent driven the car since rebuild, and its supposed to rain most of the week. Someday I'll get back on this thing.

Alky Control posted a new Meth pump where it uses a pressure switch in the filter. Its supposed to be mounted near the pump and direct swap for older units. My filter is right before the nozzles which is like 12 feet aay from the pump. I also dont believe I have a pressure switch in my current setup. I think its built into the head of the pump. Maybe I should put the filter right after the pump, how Julio is describing it.

https://www.alkycontrol.com/shop/pump

"Brand New for August 2021. Pump and Switch. Plug-n-Play with our existing system. The new design moves the adjustable pressure switch post filter, so it will read true pressure from the liquid the nozzle is seeing. There is 30 inches worth of wiring between the pump and its pressure switch. If the filter in the system is located further than 30 inches, please contact us for extensions or adapters. Warranty will now be 18 months on the new pump. Below is the option for the short hose and inline coupler to allow moving the existing filter close to the pump."

I took the car to the local dealer to help diagnosis the FSCM issue. While upgrading from the lt1 intank pump to the lt4 and an inspection.

If you're talking about the little plastic tool to disconnect the fuel lines, I had the same issue. Trimmed the plastic down that slides inside and pushes the tabs out. Maybe 1/4" or so and got it to slide in there with some force

Long time...

Upgrading the LT1 in-tank pump to the LT4 is def noticeable in the logs. The low side stays above 75psi (including the dsx).

Cars been back together and running pretty good. The weather has sucked and the local car scene sucks this year so the car has been on the back burner.

Stupid CEL for the fuel is still on and wont pass inspection. It clears for small periods of time but comes back. I would have to time it with the inspection place to get the sticker. Its the end of the season so I'm not going to bother.

I made it to the track the last day it was open. Transbrake works like a mother fer. I hit so hard the lap top flipped over in my passenger seat and closed the log LOL. I left at 3200 rpm and 2 psi of boost to get a 1.4 sixty foot. It pulled hard 1st and 2nd then hit some limiter (torque?) and it cut the throttle to 44% a few times in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Ended with a 10.0 in the 130s. No log, no 9 and the track closed. damn

I plugged the dragy in last night to see what it'll do. Last year it went 5.3 60-130 with a passenger at 18psi. I got one decent run in and went 5.0 60-130. It spun the tires at 80mph so it might be possible to click off a 4 if I can get back out there.

I wired up my boost controller to my motion race works buttons. I have it set to change between presets but might switch it to "scramble" when the button is held down. I havent played with the sensitivity or gain. Hoping there is room for improvement there. The whole reason I went to this EBC was with a goal of keeping the boost +/- 1 psi of target across all rpm.
