I think a better balanced (no sc on the nose) 200 lb lighter NA 427 LT7 z28 could still go quicker....maybe. At ~550hp and significantly lighter it would be plenty fast in the straits

It's going to be very interesting to see where the C7GS and ZL11LE end up in September.

The ZL1 1LE actually has a better Fr/Rr weight balance than the SS 1LE!

And assuming you could build an engine and powertrain up to 550 hp for the same weight as the LT1, you put the lighter-weight DSSV dampers on the SS 1LE...the resulting weight difference would be about 130 lb.

Remove rear seats. Carbon wheels. etc...

Go all out. That's the only way they could best this car NA.

I don't disagree.

Carbon wheels would make a big difference. It'd add $12 grand immediately, though. Rear seats? Maybe...but then they have Corvette.
