ADM FPCM vs Stock

I have a 2013 Camaro SS 1LE. Which already has the ZL1 fuel pump in it but its not set up like a ZL1's is.

I was looking to get ADM's FPCM but then there was talk on a thread about having to tune the fuel pump and they were using the ZL1's tables.

What is the difference of an ADM FPCM and just changing my FPCM over to a stock ZL1's FPCM??

From experience, if you buy a factory ZL1 FPCM, it does not come programmed, therefore the car WILL NOT start. The module must be programmed, independent of the ECM. Unfortunately, to get the full benefit of the ZL1 pump: a) you'd either have to have access to a Tech2; b) pay the dealer to flash the new ZL1 module; c) or just buy ADM's FPCM. I went the last route myself....

Just got back from the dealer. Ran down to see if my idea was true. Seems most of GM's FPCM are the same part number.
Tomorrow they will program my module to the ZL1 settings.

I used the adm unit. The tune will need to be changed as well.

Your tune will still need to be changed, regardless of which FPCM you decide to buy.

I have no problems at this point with installing the ZL1 settings in my factory ss FPCM.

The car goes for tuning next weekend so we'll see. I checked the part#s at Chevy ad its the same FPCM, in every Chevy car. They just reprogram it for what they need. I went in, off warranty and asked the shop foreman if they could write mine (PCM) like 2013 ZL1. He checked my data and said why not. Left the car there and came back to two thumbs up.
So next step is getting the whole computer up to snuff. Big tune in a week.

There have a been a lot of rumors about this. I think conformation will still be when you see the fuel options available for tuning and get the final data. Thanks for the update.

I was wondering about this and i'm not showing the same part numbers for FPCM. If I am researching correctly the FPCM for a 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 is 22872266. The P/N for the 2012 Camaro SS is 2086726. The P/N for a 2012 Camaro LT is 20867261.

Am I doing the research wrong?

Thanks
Mike

The FPCM's can be programmed. That's basically what ADM does. You may get the smoke screen tongue lashing from the preferred vendors and their henchmen on this thread eventually. But there is no real majic in reprogramming the FPCM. That being said...the FPCM unit costs $100ish, need to be programmed, and ADM is selling them for $225 if I remember right. It's not like it's a rip off. Pretty well priced in the grand scheme of things. And straight up works.

If you want to find your way around this....yes, it can be done. You might save $50-$100 at best. Not knocking it. To each their own. But the ADM deal works and is a great option to just buy from a trusted vendor and be done.

My 2 cents...

ADM FPCM and call it a day. Spending free time on something like this isnt worth it. Use it for something else like... oh forget it. I see you are cammed and blown according to your signature!

So is the ADM FPCM plug and play. Just swap them out and that's it, nothing else needed?
