Do not be surprised. Also could be a smaller ICE with strong electric motors. Check out the Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/porsc...id-first-ride/
671 combined hp (ICE + eMotors) .... 0-60 in 3.2s. Even a ZL1 will be in for a surprise pulling up to the light with one of these discreet killers at a SoCal stoplight. Then there is the Tesla Model S and the soon to come Faraday Future 991. Pure electrics that can achieve sub-3s 0-60 if the conditions are right (sufficient state of charge, ambient temperature, electric drive system temperature, etc). I've driven a Model S P90D. Acceleration is faster and much different than my SS convertible. Car is a hoot to drive.

They ran the 2015 5th gen until November 2015. The 6th Gens were a month into production at that point.

That was possible because they were built on two different platforms, sourced to two different plants. If there is a 7th Gen, and if it is built on Alpha, it more than likely will not coincide with Gen 6 build. Unless another Alpha plant is added (highly unlikely).

So the Camaro Team is already working on the 7th gen right now. Apparently the rule of thumb (or usually when) is to start working on the new gen when it's been 1 year of production of current gen.
6th gen plans began in 2011, release was in 2016 (well, end of 15 but 16 model). 2017 (first year production ended, second year began) + 5 years = 2022 for 7th gen and 2021 ends 6th gen production, so sounds right lol. Annnnnd with this news... Brace yourself for the incoming 7th gen speculations! Maybe we need to start a new subforum for it lmao. |

Well, that's good news....Four more years....Perhaps this would be a good reminder to all the doom-and-gloomers that are sure the Camaro will get canceled right away after every month's sales numbers are posted...lol... When the 7thGen comes out then some can claim the 6thGen was a failure and a design mistake...Until then, sounds like good news.... |
