What do I replace it with?
I've had three Camaros in the past.
A 67 SS 396 Big Block.
A 70SS 360HP LT-1 and a 80 Z28 that I purchased new.
That 80 was a real POS. A vacuum cleaner on wheels.
I have and always will be a fan of the Camaro.
Looking at the Vette again?
I was really getting sick of riding 4" off of the ground. Riding with my ass on the pavement with a car that I see mostly chicks driving with automatic transmissions.

The 1LE is a little higher off the ground and less feminine looking than the Corvette.

The flat back hood and black wheels really stood out and sold me. Both offset the Summit White perfectly.

The 2SS Colors and Options really didn't do anything for me.

I didn't want a Nav and groovy lights all over the interior.

The Recaro seats and suede wrap look so much more fitting for this car than the standard seats.
I came out of a C6 also and wanted something more than a standard SS, the 1LE is perfect even if it will never see a track during my ownership.

Not sure why some get so upset if you don't take the car to a track.

Same here.
I'm not a round about, circle around the curves track enthusiast.
I have the Loudon NASCAR Track fifteen minutes away from my house.
They have days specified that you can take your car up and run.
Not in the least bit interested.
I'm a 1/4 mile guy.
Always been and always will.
Running hard corners doesn't interest me in the least.
Running from point A to Point B quickest in a straight line does.

No, the Hellcat and Demon didn't interest me in the least.

For one, I'm a Chevy guy. If I wanted to spend 70-90K on a straight off the line sub 10 second vehicle it sure the hell wouldn't be a Dodge.

This makes no sense. Why didn't you buy an SS, which is quicker in a straight line?

Funny.
I'm kind of the opposite, yet I can understand completely.
I use to be A to B, but something seemed missing.
Found good roads with no traffic and plenty of curves, now I'm happy.

GM all the way.
I learned to drive with a Ford, but once I learned I drove GM.

The 1LE is only a hair slower in a drag race. Isn't it only because of the wider foot print?

I liked most of the goods that came standard on the 1LE. The hood wrap, the black mirrors, black mags, rear spoiler and splitter, Recaro seats and suede appointments. I wanted the PDR, even though I'm only using it as a dash cam.

And it’s heavier, heavier brakes, heavier suspension, heavier wheels, things that matter significantly in a drag race.

To me my 1LE is just a dream car..I baby it, garage it. i don't plan on ever tracking it but I will get on it from time to time after break in with some spirited driving..I just love having the awesome feeling of having a car with killer suspension, brakes, power...Just the way the car feels driving is worth the price of admission..I have had alot of cars in my time but without a doubt this 1LE is the best of the bunch...Everyone has their own style of ownership with their car some daily, some its just a special weekend car. The important thing is that you are happy. As for me I want to keep it as clean as possible so if I decide in 2 years to buy me the new C-8 Corvette..0-60 in under 3 seconds! I can get the most money for a mint 1LE..But I do daily drive mine also..

I agree 100%. I sold my 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Vette three years ago. My belly started hurting and needed another performance car. I tossed the dice on the 18 1LE Camaro. Damn, this car knocks the socks off of my 12 Corvette. Plus, I was really tired of riding on the ground. I didn't want to go that route again with another Corvette. I'm guessing the Direct Injection Engine plays a big part compared to the 12 Vette. It took me several hundred miles to get accustomed to the response of the accelerator pedal. But, I have to admit, once you get into the 1LE and the outside temperature is 75 or above? WTF,,, In Track mode the car responds like it's on rails. I never felt that experience with the Corvette.

+1
I was kind of worried the Camaro would be like a tank compared to my old C6.
Wow was I wrong.
More like the C6 felt like a cheap rental car compared to the 1LE.

I agree. My GS handled well but it felt heavier than the 1LE. With the 1LE you just point it and it goes and asks you for more. My Grandsport followed my responses but it just felt heavier and a tad slower to respond. Like I was dragging a dog compared to the 1LE.

Same kind of thing happened to me. Curves and courses started being more fun than the quarter. To 1LE or not to 1LE me that is the question.

Drive it like you stole it. At 1500 miles get an oil change and have at it....
