John Brennan on MSNBC: "people are innocent until alleged to be involved in some type of criminal activity."

Lord help anyone that was logged on a closed track during a track day or autocross event.

You must be Number 3 in disguise.

I’ve never agreed to a god damned thing and yet they can still track my car. That’s the whole f’ing point!! As long as there’s a communication link they know what your car is doing at all times. That’s why you MUST remove the transceiver board. I just have a hard time crawling up and under dashboards otherwise I’d have already done it. But I will.

Everyone needs to.

And yes I’ll gladly sign on to a class action even if I get nothing and all the lawyers get billions. If GM has to pay it that’s all that counts.

Stop defending GM in every thread about this you homer! Just because other oem’s do it doesn’t make it okay. This is a Chevy/GM site so people are gonna blast GM for doing it. If the poster above me ran over your foot and the poster above him also ran over your foot and you didn’t say anything to them by your logic if I were to run over your foot you’re not allowed to yell at me

Your going to take your insurance company to court spending thousands in attorney fees and court costs just to save maybe 1k on your premium?

As for the "everyone sells data" crowd, usually that just means I get hit with ads about Coldstone when I tell my wife I want ice cream, the problem people have with the gm/onstar/insurance deal is they are having the rates double or are being outright denied so it goes from minor annoyance to costing the consumer thousands and being a major headache.

I opted out of the Smart Driver plan as soon as I learned about it, one month after delivery. This is what I saw when I logged in to opt out:

Just saying it can be proved if you were at a track by checking the GPS.

That’s actually worse. Insurance companies have been known to drop folks for even mentioning track use.

Little did we know that every Camaro has a "track package," 1LE or not.

I turned On Star Smart Driver OFF in the app and after checking some time later it was toggled back on… and it wasn’t by me or anyone else other than GM. I never gave permissions or consented to sell my data to third parties for monetary gains, seemingly at my expense. They did wrong by their customers and betrayed a trust to their supporters. They deserve a black eye for this.
