2019 Camaro SS Totaled or Not
First accident and was wondering if my car is totaled. Was blindsided by pickup truck while turning and airbag deployed.

Airbags usually means totaled, have you called insurance yet?

and TBH I would 'want' them to total it. Definitely wouldn't want it repaired. |

I've even seen Camaros on car dealer lots on their carfax saying airbags deployed in collision and towed and being sold. In my personal opinion based on that damage I would fight to have it totaled if they want to repair it. Damage to the Chassis as well and I wouldn't want that car and all that collision data on my carfax when I go to trade it in. It's like herpes with damage like that. I know with my SS if it had damage that bad I would fight to have it totaled. Who knows how it will be after being fixed as well. I wouldn't want to be stuck with that car and not being able to get good value when trying to unload it. My personal opinion but I wouldn't want my car if it had that bad of a collision. I'd be fuming if it wasn't totaled. |

That body between the front and rear subframes has to be tweaked beyond what any repair can fix. Look at the right side door gaps, if they’re off it’s totally bent through the middle and should be totaled.
Glad you’re okay besides some latent aches. Don’t let those go either and don’t settle anything until you’re sure you don’t have long term effects.

normally. if it cost more to repair the damages than the resale value of the car, then its totaled. check with your insurance. anyway, glad your okay

Say your car is worth 35k, the could spend 34k to fix it if they wanted. My guess is it will need over 26k in damage to total it. Not likely w/o frame damage. Was the other motorist insured and ticketed? If so Google “diminished value” and your state. Some states require and others have case law where you can get settlement for “diminished value” of car. If other guys fault they are required to make you whole. In some states that means not only fixing but paying out because your car will be worth less with that bad of an accident on your Car fax.
