plasti-dip'd the chrome on RS bumper

Finally plasti-dipped the chrome leading edge on my front fascia . The trick is to apply a really good coating and pull the tape off while wet, trick I got from 15cammedSS in one of his posts . Thanks bunches . Only thing left is the rear bowtie.

Would love to see some pics myself, as doing something about it is on my list of cosmetic mods I'm contemplating. I've gone so far as to research just replacing the fascia with that of a non-RS SS.

Looks great! So, was the technique the other member suggested just peeling masking tape while wet? Or, more? Or, can you point me to his thread?

Thanks!

Yes Steve. Make sure you have complete coverage before you peel the tape off, and peel it carefully. It's a bit tricky, you have to work fast but careful at the same time. I was worried about getting it off while still wet and probably rushed the spraying, that when I peeled the tape off, I had found several tiny spots on top along the bumper of both headlight sections that didn't get covered. so I had to wait for it to dry and re-mask and hit the spots again. Luckily the center section came out perfect, so touching up the smaller headlight areas didn't take too long to cover back up and re-spray them.
