ZL1 IS KING
Just sayin, with all the comparisons to other cars whether equal or not in terms of performance, or bang for the buck, or appearance or any one of the variables that make a car desirable and special, ZL1 has hit it out of the park.
1) Forced Ford to add 100 hp to their Shelby to even be in the same league. 2) Forced comparisons with cars like GSR which is technically not in the same catagory as the ZL1 in price or category. 3) Forced people to accept that special built models of Mustangs ie Boss 302 and even the Leguna Seca model are not able to compete with the ZL1 even with huge weight cutting and suspension tweaks. 4) Forced Mustang performance fans to realize that thier top dog performance cars can not only not compete with Chevy's top dog, the Corvette, but even the lowly Camaro (ZL1) can spank their offerings. 5) Unmatched in cars within its price and catagory. What the heck can you compare it to? Its in a league of its own in terms of a well rounded touring,dragging,cruising musclecar. All comparisons to the ZL1 are flawed or unmatched in one way or another. Manufacturers are scrambling to react to this thing called a ZL1. The high and mighty. The leader of affordable supercar for the masses. There simply is no comparison, or yardstick by which to measure. It is simply the KING. LONG LIVE THE KING.

It is the King.....for now. I have a feeling that the 13 GT500 is gonna walk all over our
ZL1. I hope not though. I am just preparing my self. |

It will still be the king because it has been the car to send everone scrambling to best it. Even if the Shelby tops it in 2013, ZL1 will still be king. Shelby can be the queen.

It still suffers from out of the hole grip issues like the gt500 to some extent though it seems. wide varity of 0-60 and 1/4 miles times. I want to see 0-60 and 1/4 mile sea leve at decent temp.
I have to say as far as 2012 cars go though if you want a well balanced car with a back seat for ~50k it is the king. On thing I like is it laps well at every track. unlike the GT500 where they get like one good lap at one track and swear that it is a track moster. then when you read closer the drivers talk about brake fade and other issues where with the ZL1 they praise it. I refuse to talk about the 2013 gt500 anymore till it comes out.

You can't dispute what I'm saying. I never made anything up. I also never said I drove a 2013 GT5oo, so I don't get what you are saying. I said "it forced Ford to add 100 hp to the Shelby" which it did. 2012 Shelby's are indeed a lesser car than the ZL1, this we already know.

I am over the 2013 Shelby already, we know its probable going to be faster Thats not guessing or bench racing thats just reality. Reality being Ford will buy a ZL1 and before they release the Shelby they will make sure its at least a tenth of a second quicker. If the Shelby was not faster(at least in a straight line) this would be the biggest FAIL ever for Ford .
All that being said as a Camaro guy I could care less if the 2013 Shelby is faster. I do however, want the ZL1 to take out the 2012 Shelby as it did the Boss. I also want to see the ZL1 put some space between itself the base Vett and the V Series cars. I know the ZL1 is faster than the SS but boy I hate to see a article where the 1/4 mile for the ZL1 was almost the same as the SS. The ZL1 nameplate is Legendary and I want the 5th gen ZL1 to be just that. |
