Oh no Window issue!

I put the driver’s window down and heard a ka-thunk inside the door. Window went up again, that’s it. I can hear the motor run.

I am thinking the regulator fell out??

Hope this door isn’t too bad to take apart.
Ugh

Not too bad. 5 bolts/screws total holding the trim panel on.

2 phillips screws on very bottom of door, 1 phillips in upper hinge area, one 7mm behind plastic trim plate (pop off with flathead or pry tool) behind the door opener handle, and a larger hex bolt underneath the rubberized trim piece in the arm rest. The panel is held on by plastic push tabs. Just start in one area with a trim tool and pop it off slowly.

It is also held in the top part near the window by metal tabs, so you just pull the panel out towards the interior once you have the door lock popper removed from the panel by lifting the panel a little bit. I suggest you remove your tweeter before you try to get the panel off. The tweeter will pull right off if you pull straight up. Finally, you have a black vapor shield that needs to come off for access, held on by a rubber or hot glue stick type glue. Greater access will be had by removing the speaker too.

Once you have to door panel off, I suggest you have a helper to hold the panel while you disconnect all the harness connectors. The door release cable comes off easy with a flathead screwdriver and it's release tab is bright green.

Replacing the regulator is very easy. But just make sure that is your issue first. Also, I would try and make sure the window is fully up before you do this as access is limited with it down.

Debating whether to do this myself or not. Dealer just gave me a cost of just under $500 to put a new one in.

Ah, I’m gonna take it in. I have the bread and since it’s a rare Green Flash I want it done right. My arthritic fingers aren’t up to it.

Regulators are pretty easy. Just take it apart and put it back together, if you can turn a wrench, you got this.

It's the cable on the regulator, it's very thin and they rust out, at least they did in my vert.. I'm not an expert on these cars or any car for that matter, but I do most of my own work with the exception of tear downs and transmissions, I attempted to get the old regulator out, but gave up after multiple cuts and scrapes due to my big hands and ended up taking it to the dealer, $350. Be prepared to do the other side within a year.

It's actually fairly easy. But the problem is the window MUST be in the full up position or you can't access all the bolts, which makes it difficult if you are already having window issues.

But I can definitely see it being a problem for someone with big old meat hooks. There is a lot of sharp edged sheet metal in these doors.
