Whipple kit questions.

Hey guys,

I'm ordering the Whipple kit for my SS.
Can you guys tell me what is the different between these 2.

I know 1 one them is bolt on right out of the box. And what is the other?
The price is only $200 different.

Difference is you don’t get hptuner and the can tune from whipple. If you plan on doing more than just the blower save the 200 if you wanna data log etc spend it and just have it tuned.

yeah, I've have just called them directly and placed the order with the HP tuner.

Not a daily driver so. i'm gonna leave it as it. I might tune it later when summer comes.

My experience with the installation of the whipple on my 2016 ss was not good to say the least. First out of their box they sent the wrong thermostat. It seemed like one from an old style small block chevy. So i had to wait for the replacement to be sent. Then the expansion tank leaked after it had been installed. Car had to be taken apart to replace it(more labor) Whipple blamed the installer saying that the bolts were overtightened? The hole in the tank was pretty large. I can post a video of it if i can figure out how to do so. the hole itself was in the middle of the tank. Finally got it all wrapped up last night. But from start to finish the car waS IN THE SHOP ABOUT TWO WEEKS. THEY CHANGED THEIR MARKETING STRATEGY FROM 591 HP AT THE REAR WHEELS TO A MUCH MORE CONSERVATIVE NUMBER. LOOKING BACK ON THE ENTIRE SITUATION I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH AND WAS GOING TO GO WITH A MAGGIE. oops sorry for the caps lock. Almost forgot the pulley wouldn't turn on the water pump had to get a grinder and take off some material so it would move. The belts seem to be tracking straight as i was worried after reading another post from someone on this forum. I will say that Dennis and John both at Whipple have been very prompt to drop ship the different products out to the shop. Just frustrated with the entire deal.

Sounds like another great install experience......lol.
I inserted sleeves in the tank, had to machine spacers for the pulleys...etc.
The list is endless, all good now.

Brettman i hear you loud and clear. The tune was completed last night and i go to the dyno with it Monday am. The only modifications that i have thus far is a rotofab with the sound tube delete. I wonder what numbers I could expect to see? I'm glad yours is all together and running good. I read you r post with the pulley issues. Thanks for the information sharing as I wouldn't have thought a second about it and just bolted it on.lol
