Wiring question
I have a 2018 2SS redline and I was doing a cleaning of the engine bay and I noticed a wired had been chewed by a mouse.
Can anyone tell me what this wire is Photo attached Thank you in advance |

Can you do a closer photo?
Looks like 2 wires. I think maybe connection to evap canister purge solenoid valve. |

I bet you're right. Weirdly, that same wire/harness was jacked up on my car, noticed it after I bought it. I procrastinated fixing it until it threw a CEL. The dealerships all carry the plug harness for this if it needs replaced...

It’s two blue wires into a black plug but I couldn’t release it very hard to get at as it sits under intake manifold. I was able to wrap it with electrical tape just wondering what wires were for if I run into any issues

Definitely the evap solenoid valve. If you wrapped it and you're not getting a CEL, I figure you're good to go...

Hit with a dap of solder if the wires are damaged then wrap it in shrink wrap tubing and heat seal to keep from corroding. Wish they would get rid of soy based sheathing. Permatex even makes a liquid electrical tape if hard to reach.

I don't know how he'd get heat shrink around that without disassembling the connector.
I would do electrical tape with a cable tie around it to keep the tape from unraveling. Kind of a warm area there. Since he took manifold off for "cleaning the engine bay," I would assume he will do the same every so often and can replace the zip tie if it cracks. |

Mine was the same way, I wrapped it in electrical tape. The foam padding near it also looked like a piece was ripped out.
