I got my wife a 16ss early car like number 20 something I had a twin turbo 5th gen at the time.. we did a shared track day by the 3rd session my turn lol... the brakes got mushy in one of the worst corners. I limped in let it cool and we drove home not taking full advantage of the track day. The next day I ordered the big brake kit and motul it was perfect after that no problems I then come to find out that the zl1 brakes are bigger when I bought my zl1 and sitting in the garage next to each other. I screwed up I wish I would of gotten her zl1 brakes but they weren't out yet.

Probably do pads on both cars and flush w motul again.

SS: 4 piston front and rear. Smallest rotor/calipers you'll get without downgrading to floating calipers.
13.6" front rotor diameter
13.3" rear rotor diameter

SS 1LE and GM big brake kit: 6 piston front and 4 piston rear.
14.6" front rotor diameter
13.3" rear rotor diameter. (Common rotor/caliper with the SS trim)

ZL1 and ZL1/1LE: 6 piston front and 4 piston rear but everything upsized vs. SS 1LE.
15.35" front rotor diameter
14.4" rear rotor diameter

And while some of the SS or SS 1LE pads may technically fit in the ZL1 or ZL1 1LE calipers as I've seen posted elsewhere on the forum, the swept area won't be correct for the rotor and will result in worse brake performance.

So the part number for the rear pads of an SS are the same as an SS 1le? And only the zl1/Zl1 1le are bigger rears.

Motul isn't cutting it. Use SRF or Brembo HTC64T for the road course.
