Easiest access to both headlight bulbs

Looking to replace my headlight bulbs with something brighter since my county refuses to install light posts for our country roads. If I have the carbon fiber CAI intake, is it easier accessing both high beam and low beam through the fender or is it easier removing the intake?

What about the opposite side of the car?

I just replaced my driver side one. It can be done by just removing your intake. It's a pain in the ass, but I did it. Passenger side, could be hard. Luckily mine wasn't out, so I didn't have to tackle it. But I was curious and wanted to see if I could do it and honestly it looked impossible. Good luck.

I've changed out both my HID bulbs to 5500K Morimoto D3S, wanted more lumens and a more pure white output. For $80ish, it's worth swapping.

It's been a bit since I put them in, but I believe I turned the wheel, removed some of the screws for the fender liner and had pretty easy access to them.

I also swapped in some Lasfit LED front signals, but as you probably already have noticed that they're easy to install from under hood

I'd rather not assume HID or LED headlights, OP, what model year and trim do you have? Are you sure you have the base headlight assembly and there are separate low and high beam bulbs in the housing?

Unless they accidentally posted his question in the wrong sub-forum, safe to assume HIDs.

So... apparently I did **** up. I thought I needed H11 and 9005, but it's sounding like the ZL1 1LE uses the D3S HIDs?

That would be correct!

Brb, ordering different bulbs...

Sounds like I'll be pulling some fender lining. I'll have to look under the hood again, but depending on my airbox it may be the easier route to go anyway.

Yep, but it's a very easy install. Just remove first 3-4 screws in front of the liner and should give you plenty of room to swap em.

I've ran Osram CBB bulbs in the past and excellent bulbs. I really wanted another set, but couldn't justify 3-4x the price of the Morimotos unless the CBB's output was 3-4x which isn't even close.

What bulbs did you end up ordering? Other than myself, and now you, I don't think anyone else has bothered with upgrading bulbs.

Not to sound like a salesman but if you don’t like the output and can afford the coin for a Morimoto/HERO set of housings along with the project they are by far and away worth it. Dual LED low and high beams in each housing absolutely blow the OEM HID’s out of the water for output and range, I couldn’t be happier with them and have zero regrets.

I went with the **** everyone else at night option.

https://precisionled.com/shop-by-bul...onversion-kit/

To be fair though I almost never drive this car at night and when I do I live in the middle of nowhere so there's almost no chance of me blinding someone. I think in the past 6 months I've only seen 2 other cars at night. What I do have are the dumbest deer in North America who hear the ZLE coming and think "play time!"

Appreciate these disclaimers

I'll be honest, I absolutely detest the douchebags that install aftermarket 12261785615 lux LEDs on their bro dozers and blind everyone for 5-10 seconds because who gives a ****. Doesn't even make sense, because the same blinded oncoming drivers can so easily veer into their trucks across the double yellow one day...

These LEDs are probably not such a big deal on a low sports car such as the Camaro if the aim is set correctly, but on trucks and SUVs it's a nightmare.
