New Map Update SD Card

So I just got a new map update SD card and I'm not sure where exactly it goes. Does it go in the PDR SD Card slot? Some directions make it seem like this card stays in permanently so I wouldn't want it in the PDR slot 24/7. The infotainment booklet doesn't say jack either.

2020 ZL1 for the need to know info

---No need, I found it underneath all the other usb ports in the center console.

The Map SD Card Slot is in the Arm Rest beneath the dual USB receptacles.

In addition, I believe that the Updated Map Card needs to have your specific Car VIN number in it somewhere for it to work. I could be wrong but I believe - as with everything to do with our cars - the VIN # must sync with the ECM/BCM module for it to work.
