DONE! Would it be "wrong" to put 2018 SS staggered wheels on 2021 LT1?

I like the look of my stock LT1 wheels (20" x 8.5" all the way around I believe), and I certainly want to run the A/S tires probably 3-4 months each year. But wouldn't mind better grip from the beefier summer performance tires from the SS.

I have locally found a set of 2018 stock SS wheels in great shape for under $500. They are 5-spoke and appear to be a satin silver color. Think these would look good on my SSGM car 2/3 of the year?

Or should I hold out for a set of the newer stock SS wheels to retain a newer model look? What do you all think?

Rob

I prefer the look of the newer wheels but if you like the 18 style wheel, go for it! Under $500 for 4 SS wheels is a good deal...

Do it, you'll enjoy some more rear traction.

I had 18" square setup originally and got pretty much the same deal you did but with the split-spoke version. Definitely go for it, someone will also buy your old wheels or keep them as a winter set/spare set.

I alternate these with my 50th anniv wheels. I think this version of the 5-spoke has classic appeal. I like the way it looks on the 50th. Also much easier to clean than 10-spokes if you use them for winter.

The tires are OEM takeoffs from a 2019. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric run-flats.

245/40ZR20 in front and 275/35ZR20 in back.

I definitely prefer the 'after', non-directional wheels. Wheels with directional-suggesting spokes always seem to be going the wrong way on one side of the car - and it's not really clear which way would be the 'right' way.

That’s a crazy low price for those wheels….well done. I would have jumped at those too.

Agree... those look trick! Great wheels at a great price. I had a 2017 SS that I stupidly sold back in March. I had just put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on it too. So... I missed it enough to get a new LT1 that came with the GM/Camaro forged rims. They're quite pricey so I doubt I'll be getting wider rims for the rear.
