Mixing Ethenal

California only has 91 octane available so I have been mixing 1.25 gal. of e85 (105 octane) with 17.75 gal. of e91. Its a little more complicated than that because of the remaining couple of gals. of 92 octane left in the tank. (I use Brew city boost site to calculate)
Ca. E85 is truly e85 (83% personally tested @ 2 Chevron stations) I'm getting an average of 92 octane (every little bit helps) and averaging 15% ethenal. The ZL1 manual says you can run up to 15% ethenal safely.
My question is has anyone pushed it past e15 and if so were there any problems?
Obviously with no tune.

Just to clarify, pump 91 octane is e10 most likely.

I use this calculator and have found it to be pretty accurate. I personally would not push it past e15 without tuning for it. You’d be better off IMO just running 91 or a can of good octane booster.

I also use Fuel It Bluetooth analyzer and phone app to monitor my percentage.

Keep in mind that E85 is up to 85% Ethanol.

Also, the gasoline base is usually 85 or 83 octane. You'd have to check the supplier for exact info.

There is a pump near my house that sells E85 blended with 93. Slightly more expensive than standard E85, but I always log better with it.

If you go in the app store on iphone there is a decent little free app called e85Cal that makes this process easier on you if you know what you're putting in. The 93 pump gas near me is 10% ethanol and the E85 at the pump is actually right at 70%. I do have an ethanol gauge though so it certainly helps taking the guess work out of things.
