Lug Nut Torque Specs
I just changed wheels and tires on the 18 RS and was shocked to find out that Chevrolet reccomend 140 ft lbs torque on lug nuts...Why so high? Most other cars are 80-90 ft lbs.

The size of the fastener dictates the torque spec (kinda sorta)

The mass of 20" rims needs to be tight.
Lots of physics going on. |

Not unusual at all, I have two cars with >100 ft lbs, 110 and 120 to be exact, excluding the larger SUV vehicle from this.....well, three, the Camaro too! lol

Just rotated the tires on my wife's new Cadillac and the torque spec was 140.
