Search Jack Cooper Transport for shipping status of vehicle by VIN

This is the 1st change I have seen on my son's car. Should we get excited or just expect to sit and wait?

My car is now in “Bayed” status but that was after I was told it had already moved to a rail yard in Toledo OH which made me think it was already being transported. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether that was possible? How long others cars have stayed in “Bayed” status? Any info is great! Thanks! Car was built 10/4/21

I haven’t gotten to this point yet on my build… but I’ve been poring over these forums for the last 6 months or so, here is what I’ve learned:

Bayed = parked somewhere
Your vehicle will likely be bayed several times.
- immediately after rolling off the assembly line it gets bayed at LGR
- if you have stripes or get pulled for quality control, your car will be transported elsewhere and then bayed again.
- eventually you will transported to a rail yard or Jack Coopers main yard for the main transport and bayed again.
- when the train gets to a rail yard close to your location, your car will be bayed there before loading onto a truck for delivery to your dealer.

Where you may have to worry, is if your vehicle gets bayed at LGR and then doesn’t move elsewhere… that likely means it was built shy. Unclear if that is happening for any ‘22s

Thanks for the info. I’m hoping that since it was bayed in Toledo OH that means it is moving thru the transport system now.

I’ve noticed that some of the cars that were built in the last few days have been “Bayed” after being built. I’m hoping there is a “nothing to worry about” reason for this as opposed to being built shy of parts. I’m sure it’s possible that transportation is being arranged or the random car gets pulled for additional QA, but it seems like an uptick in bayed cars.

My 2SS 1LE is supposed to be built next week and I’m hoping there are no delays on the back end. I did notice that one of the bayed cars was the same build as mine so that is what has me a bit concerned.

If you are “Bayed” post up the car you ordered to see if there is a trend.

It looks like you checked a bunch of option boxes that typically wouldn’t be an issue but with the supply cluster f*&k as it is, who knows. It would suck to find out you were in limbo because of the red knee pads.

I have a white 6M 2SS that has most of the same option boxes ticked (not the seat belts or alloy pedals), and it was built on 10/19. Joe said he sees "3800" status as of today, but my info on the JCT site moved from "On Hold" over the weekend to "Delivered" as of mid-day today - that's delivered to the railyard, mind you, so it still has to go from MI to TX. I'm not sure that I ever officially showed a 4B00 status according to GM, but I did see it update in the JCT BayedDate field several times over the course of a couple days last week. My dealer called me this afternoon and said his info looks like it will be there on 11/3, which seems optimistic to me but I'd take it!

In short - I'm not sure who to trust or believe, but we should all have faith that the cars are coming. Some day. I hope.

My car is 4B00 as well. I hope it's just waiting for a truck to be arranged.

I used the Jack Cooper link to search my VIN and I was showing as paired last week with all dealer info showing. Then it all disappeared the morning it was supposed to show up at the dealer and only had the ASN date. Yesterday morning it is all populated again and is showing paired with the dealer name populated again. Neither of the reports of mine had a bayed date however my dealer had told me it was in bayed status last week. Not sure if the JC bayed info is the same as the GM 4B00 bayed status. Tough to tell based on my situation. I just hope I see this car this week as all signs were pointing to last week and then nothing.
