I ditched the secondary cats and added the Borla x pipe.

Yep, when starting the LT1 stock, people loved it. After I added the Corsa NPP it sounds even more muscle car - deep.

Went to a Corsa, didn’t like the sound as good but didn’t drone. I assume that if I went with the Borla S-type (don’t see the touring version offered) it wouldn’t drone with NPP. Also, I rented a Hertz Hendrick Camaro before I purchased mine and whatever exhaust they used on it sounded great. Would like to know what that system was. To sum it up, looking for a mild exhaust that will get rid of the raspy sound. Thanks in advance.

They are not as raspy as they age and get mileage on them. To get them deeper with hardly no rasp cut out the X-pipe and replace with an H-Pipe.

What kind of power would you be giving up changing to an Hpipe vs an Xpipe setup if there is any loss that is...I wouldn't think more than a couple of horses on an NA setup right?

The raspy-ness gets far worse when you add headers. I have NPP and wanted to keep it active. The only 2 I considered were Flow Master and Stainless Works but that was > 2 years ago. I tried to get my tuner to stop the loud start up but they did not know how, again it was > 2 years ago.

Most newer cars will sound a bit off when cold due to VVT adjusting the valve timing to minimize cold emissions and heat up the cat faster. When I borrowed my buddy's Mazda6 2.5T, that thing literally sounded like a diesel on cold starts. It gets better as it warms up, though that engine doesn't really sound that good to start with.

Never really disliked how my car sounds stock myself, but that's me.

After 4 and a half years, the “look at me” startup has become stale to my ears. Even in stealth mode it’s loud on a cold start.

I’m thinking about adding a Magnaflow resonated x pipe based on this thread:

So I did this and it does in fact work. I would be willing to bet a lot of people would complain that its too quite after doing this however. My car has been down for probably almost 6 months now so I've kind of forgotten how it sounds though.
