The "wax" is just a protectant for the polish that your use..... See the cosmetic section for about 1000 different choices. Particularly the posts from me, Norcal 51, Jim, Kirk and Timmy.
It's much more about the procedures, skill and equipment you use , rather than a magic "wax". Start reading the links I put below to give you a feel for how to get good protection/ gloss. |

Appreciate the input, Glen.
I understand the application stuff, etc. but every few years there is a new hot product that is supposed to advance the technology. In 2008 or so, it was a liquid system which name I've long since forgotten. In 2012 or so, it was "Mothers". Looking on the net just now I found this: P21S 12700W Carnauba Wax. 335 reviews with 95% 4 stars or better. Very impressive but pricy. Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...YIJZDU0C5&th=1 Ah, just saw Dev's post above. Yeah, it was Zaino that was the hot system in 2008. Ultimately, I'm a slacker compared to many of you. As long as my rides shine like a diamond through the years, I'm good. I've been able to meet my standard without clay bars and multiple products. The "hot new product" is not a carnuba wax. Using your logic/reasoning, it would be a polymer sealant or Si02 ceramic coating, AFTER YOU POLISH. Carnuba is good for 2 to 3 months, and if you're in a hot climate, even less.Again see a ton of good products in the cosmetic section.

Pics can be deceiving. I snapped a pic of my 17 year old black Yukon and it looked like a mirror in the pic. It's milky white with oxidation in person. You might be surprised by the inexpensive product, "Wax While U Dry." Seriously, check it out. And put it on fairly liberally.

Car Pro, Gtechniq, 2PPLE, Kamikaze, Polish Angel, Gyeon, Optimum come to mind. Will provide links if your interested. I don't use wax anymore, just coatings, or wax with coating elements such as Kamikaze Infinity wax.
Nothing wrong with a good wax, sealant, but coatings are the way I prefer to go. Im near the Sac area and do coatings on weekends if your interested in learning about it, or want an installation. |
