I tried the first time clay bar.

I think the result is ok. You really feel the difference in smoothness of the surface. And it looks not bad.

Do not use the clay bar on matte foil.

Looks good. Yeah don’t clay bar vinyl. I’ve done my truck once. And only once. It’s a pain in the butt.

Wash, dry, clay bar, wash, dry, wax. That day killed me. Plus a full interior detail. That was right when I got the truck.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I just did the roof, bonnet, trunk and rear side panel top. Next time I do the sides. I feel like a truck hit me.

I clay barred my wife's Volt then washed / polished / paint protected that and the Camaro when I got the Camaro. Grueling weekend, but it paid off in the end. Gonna hit both cars again, plus my SRX. I'm sure the Volt and SRX will get clay bar. I'll have to decide on Camaro when the time comes. Two black cars and one NGM. I have my work cut out for me.

It will wear you out that’s for sure.

Surprised you said bonnet for the hood but not boot for the trunk. Or is that more a UK thing?

Yeah that’s a work out for sure. And dark colors make it a tad more challenging. I’m still trying to find/decide on a ceramic coating for my Camaro. There are 2 shops highly recommend here in Memphis but both use different coatings. Trying to decide which I want to go with.

I had my Z06 paint corrected and then ceramic coated with CQuartz UK 3.0 last year. Prior to going that route I did a lot of research and was satisfied with what I read about CQuartz.

Yeah, that’s more a UK thing. I am also in another car forum and there are quite a few UK members and they have a bonnet and no hood.

Changed out the tail lights and the 3rd brake light.

Here is the before and after...

Now all I need to do is work up the nerve to swap up the bowties to the black ones which are waiting to go on.

Hoping the paint stick tutorial is the way to go...
