Recaro Seat Issue - I can't be the only one!

Has anyone else come across this with their seats? See pictures. There's some blue wear type marks forming around the seams. No one hardly ever sits in this passenger seat but I've noticed that the seam appears to be wearing. There is a little of this starting on the drivers seat as well.

What the hell GM, what kind of damn high dollar seats are these anyway? What kind of damn leather did GM use? <- That's sarcasm...

When I had my old 2014, I noticed that too, bought it brand new, saw it after a few months. Turned out it was one of my jackets, had some metal buttons that would rub there every time I got out of the car. I don’t use that jacket no more, if I do bring a jacket I wear it after I exit the car.

Interesting. No one has entered the car with a jacket, only cotton t-shirt.

Yeah, could be denim. I wear jeans a lot. My passenger wears jeans. I've only had a passenger maybe 20 times I guess. Seems excessive for the seat to wear like that.

Yep, could be the denim. Agree, seems excessive for only a few times. Mine is not like that. I bought it last July, entered and exit too many times to count, no damage yet.

Haven't seen this on the passenger side, but at the driver side, I am seeing similar wear(?) at similar spots.

Picky car, eh? Guess I will have to watch what I wear, then.

Do not slide over the side bolters when getting in and out of the car. I know it's hard for most to do but that it's the only way you'll avoid that wear. I always place my hand over that area when entering & exiting the car. That still easy to fix with a leather touch up.

That is caused from sliding over the bolsters when you or your passenger get into the car. It wears the leather. My wifes Lexus driver seat looks like that. I had to give her a lesson on how to get into the car without dragging over the bolster. Its really difficult on the Recaro's because the bolsters are very tall and in the way when getting in.

Cheap Chevy leather but then people will gripe about most everything these days any way.

This was my thought also but I honestly wasn't sure how I was getting in/out or if my seat had wear.

I do sit directly into and out of the seat without dragging across the seat bolster so no damage. I'm tall and appropriately thin so its not difficult for me to do natural way.

Drive you car and enjoy it, it will wear and that is normal.

Or did you buy it to look at?

Ha. Both I guess. I drive it though, not a garage queen. I just disappointed about how quickly the seats wear in this spot.

My car is 3 years old and shows no signs of wear on the bolsters. On a previous car I learned to put the seat all the way back before getting out to make it easier to get out and back into the car without dragging my denim-covered butt across the bolster.
