ZLE TRACK Alignment Advice

I have had 2 track days on my ZLE and using the track alignment -2.7 front -2.0 rear....wore out the inside of the front tires very quickly. Would that imply that I am not aggressive enough in the corners?

What are your toe settings?

I followed the recommended settings that GM provided for camber and toe

This is normal for the ZLE. Front tires will cord on the most inner part of the tire rather quickly. I only get around 6-8 sessions per front set of tires.

My guess is It's caused by a dynamic toe change during cornering. The inner, unloaded tire is essentially being dragged through the corner at an exaggerated toe-out causing excessive wear.

Same symptoms here. At first I thought my alignment was off.

Under what driving conditions? Track? Street? How many track days / miles on the road?

I had 6 sessions at the track and 3000 miles on the road.

seanblurr's response My guess is It's caused by a dynamic toe change during cornering. The inner, unloaded tire is essentially being dragged through the corner at an exaggerated toe-out causing excessive wear makes sense to me as my braking has gotten more aggressive as I grew in comfort with this car.

I reduced camber in the front to -2.4 just to see if that would help reduce wear. Thoughts??

What tire pressure are you running?

I don't believe it is camber related at all, as tire temps are good across the board. You'll find some excess outer edge wear the more you reduce camber. I may actually increase over the recommended -2.7.

I run on the 3r goodyears at 36 lbs hot

-3.2 camber
7.7 caster
-0.05 toe

Wear is pretty even across the tire I also switch side to side between events

starting pressure 28-30, operating hot around 36. we will see, heading up to monticello motor club tomorrow for several sessions.

Camber by itself isn't enough to wear the tire, it is camber plus the toe that'll chew up the insides.

fwiw i maxed out front camber and caster, roughly 3.5 negative, 7 caster, with about 1/8 total toe out. left the rears at 1.2 neg, basically 0 toe, maybe 1/32 toe in.

won events at road america and was fast in de at Cota like that, otw bone stock. so far wear seems even, even a bit worse on the outside edge of the fronts.

i have been running about 34 hot, but had to put 220 tw goodyears on to make the 200 tw rules, so they are much less grip than the stock 100tw goodyears.

I didn't think caster was adjustable on our cars?
