Key FOB doesn’t work?

2022 ZL1. Key fob inoperable, changed battery, still
Doesn’t work? Spare FOB works, is there some sort
Of re-boot on this? Or is the actual FOB itself busted?

I would try one more battery, in case you got a defective one. Also double check, it is installed the right way or one of the contact tabs has been skewed. There’s no procedure after battery replacement that I know of.

Yeah, I can confirm that the fob should just work after swapping in a new battery, no resetting or any other procedure required. As CalgaryZL1 said, verify the battery and the contacts.

If you have a scan tool, you can check for recent vehicle access related codes, too, maybe those will help figure out if there is a more substantial problem (and in fact there is a "key fob x weak signal" or similar code, I remember seeing it once).

Did it just stop working?
Yeah trying another battery would be my first step, seen too many "new" batteries that were DOA.

As quick check you could also try throwing it in the cup holder and seeing if you can then start the car.

It’s not the battery, DIC still says “no fob detected “
It does work when I put fob into cupholder?, but it won’t
Lock or unlock car or open trunk? The spare fob works
Fine.PS car does start and run, but only when I have
Fob in cupholder

I would try swapping batteries between your working remote and the one that isn’t working and see if that does anything

I guess the next step is to take it to the dealership and see if it’s replaceable or repairable under warranty.

My car is having this issue also. Sometimes I can't turn it off because it says no fob detected lol. I'm thinking the actual car battery is finally getting weak after 6 years...but not confirmed yet

6 years! I think it’s time for a new battery! PS it’s not the car battery
In regards to the key FOB

Then there is good signal but no power on the fob. Verify battery is not upside down in the fob (I've done this). Try another new fob battery (I've had new ones be bad on me).

If none of that works, then call an automotive locksmith. Probably cheaper than a "diag fee" at the dealer, and they make house calls. They'll be the ones who know how often fobs just up and seem to quit as transmitters but still work in the cupholder.

my fobs have new batteries…this all started after i left it off the trickle charger and it got down way lower than I’ve ever let it. my battery tender keeps all our batteries going for way longer than they typically should. i will test it soon, but have a flat currently…if it ain’t one thing it’s the other

I've experienced new, Chinese'ium batteries not playing nice with FOBs. After replacing said battery with a new genuine Duracell (or equivalent), it worked just like new. Auto-detection worked fine. Auto-unlocking started working like normal again. All of it went back to normal.
