New Best time so far...

Former Pro Photographer claims he used to be with HotRod. Worth the $20 to get the photo. Sadly though, he got me on my bad run where I DQ'd leaving to early by 0.145 seconds. REEEEEE

Not sure what went on with the person on the right side.

Great job with that 60’ and knocking on the door of getting into the 11’s!

Okay, so what worked for you to get a better launch?

I was getting on it harder than I was before, and I did a longer burn-out 3-4 seconds.

I'll get the video together tomorrow, just don't feel like doing it tonight.

But I torque launched I'd say 1500-2000 rpm, but didn't move the pedal when I launched, then waited for the Engine sound to go down, then pushed the pedal to the floor in about 1/2 a second or so.

It was almost as if I did a double launch once my speed got to 20mph+ on the launch.

I assume the weight shifted to the back harshly enough to take off from 20mph.

My 330ft to 1/8th times were all lower by about .2

I did 4 runs total, and ran consistent times. Cept the first one where I DQ'd I just let off the gas, no reason to put undue strain on the engine if it doesn't really count.

And if you were wondering that Mustang GT in the picture, ran a 13.3

if you're gonna poop on his thread, at least make it about drag racing, instead of the free pictures you got.

op: what was the rear tire pressure?

Nice runs. Congrats. Some more practice and you'll be able to chip away at that time a bit.

for future reference, if you red light it will still give you an et on the slip. at least it does here.

id say drop the tire pressure a little more and keep at it. those tires have really stiff sidewalls.

Understood,

I just felt that if it doesn't count in a contest, then it doesn't count in practice either. Not trying to be a perfectionist, just if I ef'd up then I ef'd up.

i hear ya. no sense in giving up a good pass otherwise. i go to the track for an et. winning anything is out of the question 99.9% of the time.

need to find your way into a track rental.

I was mad after that first pass, was determined to do better the second run. And partly because it is a work day so I had to go there after work, and last time I went they were busy af. 90 minute waits. Got lucky this time only 30 minute waits so I was able to get 4 passes in.

Good runs, good runs DA was high, which didn't help you, and your 60-ft was 1.96 on your best pass—if you can get that down a wee bit, you'll have your 11-second slip. I'd try to be a little bit more aggressive with the throttle, you didn't spin on your best run, so the tires may have a little more traction reserve.

The car doesn't have a whole lot more power than stock, your mph was 118 and you gained a healthy 26 mph on the big end, so I think 11.8-11.9s is the best you can do.

Keep on truckin'
