Battery current sensor and Audio amps

Hey all noticed the battery current sensor (on negqative cable near battery) and will soon be adding Subs and amp to my 2016 camaro. Just have them around and dont want them sitting around for nothing. Do you think I should run my Amp ground through it so the heavy power draw is seen by the computer and up the alternator output or is that not able to work like i wish.
Or has anyone here allready thought of this, or am i looking at the wrong sensor or its purpose? Its the donut sensor on negative battery cable.. If that is not what it is sorry...
