Exactly where my problem is. I touched it up once, but it chipped out again. Very small and hardly noticeable. I will have the dealer realign the trunk lid at the next oil change.

Same issue here. It's due to panel gap misalignment on the deck lid from the factory. I ordered a mosaic black paint touch up kit and plan on resolving myself.

I have the same problem. Took it to the dealer this morning. The Service Manager called an outside body shop to make arrangements to fix it. It will take two days and the dealership will provide a loaner car for that period. All covered under warranty.

Two days to fix a misaligned trunk lid.

It's gonna take at least 20 min of work to complete but spread out over roughly a 14 hour period in between doing non-fixed rate warranty work.

Same reason why mylink updates take anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days to do a flash upgrade procedure that is allocated .4 hours.

I was told the body shop had to remove the deck lid and straighten it out. Sand the area affected and paint and clear coat it. Let it dry and re-install the deck lid. YES, two days. Makes sense to me not being a body-man myself. However, I'll let all those "experts" on the forum tell me how it should be done.

My trunk has chipped paint also on both sides. I was wondering what did that.

I can understand two days for all that work.

Since my chip is so small I figured they would just loosen up the lid, align it and then touch up the paint. That shouldn't take more than an hour. I just touched it up for the second time. Seems to take opening and closing the trunk several times to chip the touch-up.

Are all the chips happening in the same spot(s)?

The first photo is the chip.
The second photo shows where the chip is. The white line at the top of the circle is a reflection. The chip is in the center of the circle where the trunk lid meets the body.
Don't mind the dirty car. It has been raining here for 12 days straight.
