I got incredibly lucky yesterday on the freeway

I was getting on the freeway and heard somethign hit the car, but could not see anything.

I went back, it appears I ran over some sort of bent up metal wire.
Looks like the clearbra I had put on finally paid for itself.

It tore through it near the wheel lip, but the paint looks ok.

I find it irritating when I see some derp driving with cargo that's not secure. I've seen everything on the highway including the kitchen sink, LITERALLY. I was driving home from work at 7am (night shift) and saw a shiny object ahead, it was a large stainless steel kitchen sink that you'd find at a restaurant. If I was just a little more sleepy on my drive home, it could've been messy. Glad you made it out with not too much damage.

Years ago, I was making a drive from Atlanta to Little Rock in a 3rd gen camaro, and when I was almost in Alabama, a pickup in front of me carrying all sorts of crap lost the lid off a toilet tank. That was the end of my trip, and the end of me following trucks closely enough for my car to get a toilet tank lid in the snout.

I wasn't hurt at all, but I was pissed.

Years ago heading north on I65 I saw a 4x4x8 cone off the back of a truck, hit end first and vault into the air right at me. I swerved and it went through the windshield of the car behind me on the passenger side. I saw on the news that night that it killed the passenger.
