soft brake pedal

Hey guys

I got 19k miles on a 2020 1le. Tons of canyon runs and 2 long track days

My brake pedal feels soft. I was running motul 600 and notice they felt softer. So had the dealer release them with same fluid and they were good for about 6 months and got spongy again. So I bled brakes with same fluid..lil better. So I got Castrol SRF and had the dealer bleed them and they were better but I'm back to the soft braking feel .

To describe it: soft pedal and it does stiffin up after a lil more travel. Felt like it takes more force on my part to stop the car. Any ideas?

You might just be confusing soft pedal with mild initial bite of most stock pads.

I know I have same "feeling" in my ZLE. Stock pads give the impression of soft pedal despite it not being the case.

If still on stock pads, try something with more initial bite.

The stock pad itself has some compressibility and is a bit soft. Something like a DS2500 which is only marginally more aggressive gives a much better pedal feel.

You may need to bleed out the fluid that’s in the caliper. With Motul you should do that before each track day. Likely you had some old fluid (Motul) in the caliper. No need to flush you probably just need to bleed a little out at each corner. I had to do this when I converted over to SRF as it’s barely enough to get a full fluid exchange. Its like to be sure you need 1.5L.

Update:
First of thank for replies

I have a front outside bleeder that was clogged. YOu can see black stuff plugging the lower holes of the bleeder. So I dont think the dealer bled my brakes right, because they didint bleed the outside front bleeder.
I replaced it, and bled that caliper. My brakes felt better, less travel but still softer than normal. In a high speed stop, my pedal has more travel than it has been. I am thinking ill get another bottle of SRF and try to do the foot bleeding (or up to 20psi on the motive bleeder).

Any noise from these? I never liked the stock pedal feel

Hey man wanted to follow up and thank you for the recommendation. This place got all the air out of the lines and pedal is back to normal. The guys are really knowledgeable. Won't be going to dealer anymore lol

Appreciate it man
