I remember when the 2002 came out I test drove one with manual trans at the dealership. I remember being impressed with the pull, the cornering was pretty good but I also remember the ride being hard and tight. That being said I was much more impressed with the performance and handling of my current 17' SS 6 speed. Its a whole different animal, more comfortable and more power on tap. Pulls like a freight train and responds pretty good to minor upgrades.
