Power Stop Z-26 pads
I just read a thread that GT-ER posted on how bad his rotors look using the Z-26 brake pads. I put mine on at 900 miles and only have about 2,000 miles on them.
After seeing his rotors, I am seriously considering going back to the the stock pads. So far no issues on mine with mild driving. When I installed my Z-26 pads there was a lot of people on here installing those pads. Is anyone else that installed those pads having the same issues with build up on the rotors? |

I would stick with the oem pads. They are great.

5000 miles and 20-ish months without issues. Rotors look just fine.

I installed mine early Spring, 1,500 mi and no issues. Makes my detailing process so much easier too. Why would you go back to OEM if you are not having problems? Just make sure you use a mild abrasive, like steel wool, to clean off the pad deposit on the rotors before installing any others.

If yours are fine I agree you should just leave it alone. Maybe mine was a bad batch, or maybe I drive to aggressively, I don't know. Mine were great at first, but now they suck. :-(

As someone who used these pads on my Z06....If the only use is for the street then go with these pads. If you use it on track or for any spirited drives you’re better off with the stock pads as they have a better bite. In a heavy car like ours, I would rather go for bite.
These pads work as advertised_ virtually no brake dust.

19,000 miles...rotors look fine. I did the recommended break-in!
Several trips to Mexico, many 0-100-0, and a tail of the Dragon cruise! They can't handle CONTINUAL hard pounding, but no dust and thoroughly cleaning wheels every 3 months is worth it! |
