What a day I had! (Carnage inside) UPDATE****

Going to lunch when a person decides to cross traffic, turn left in front of you. Ugh! Florida drivers for you.

******UPDATE********14 July 16
The at fault party's insurance is taking responsibility (state farm) they sent out their claims dude and the insurance has posted $14500.00 worth of damage but I think they are off. The detailed list does not even have suspension parts nor the wheel that got jacked up on it. Plus many damaged parts (like the radiator, front splitter and even ate up inner fender liners) they are saying repair not replace.

****Supplemental estimate finally got done with a total of $16,550 worth of repairs.

I got a hold of a diminished value appraiser and the body shop needs to get their appraisal done. I might lawyer up so I don't even have to talk to insurance anymore. Such a pain.
****Diminished value appraiser will be out after it is put back together, just looking at the estimates they believe diminished value will start around $7500 but final paint matching (silver) might bump that up quite a bit.

I highly doubt this car will ever be the same again. Once repaired I'm planning to dump this car. Been looking at a Shelby track pack that I might just jump on. I know this accident is going to cost me, but I'll be damned if I'm going to track a car that has pulled out supports and used replacement parts. I'm pretty sure I've lost about half of its value as 1LE's don't sell much different than a standard SS, if at all, and after an accident with deployed air bags and substantial front end damage I can't see me getting crappola for this car.

***** this kills me, a car I had built just the way I wanted it and here i am with a big ol pile of crap that will never be the same after repairs, I've been selling all my brand new mods for I bought and never installed and am trying to see what I can do to trade this thing in because I don't think it will be safe to use it for what I bought it for (light track duty) nor will I ever trust the car to keep me safe after the front damage that I saw.

****Again, pretty sure I will financially loose my ass on this car, I am soo not pleased with the state of Florida and the way the insurance laws allow insurance to deal with situations like this. I am also being told by the local chevy place that I need to have the car certified after repairs or my warranty will be voided. (is that some crap or what?)

Anyway that's where I am at****** I am pretty emotional about this whole deal and I know it could be worse but it still kills me I am dealing with this after 5k miles and a inattentive driver UGH!

thanks again to everyone for their support and well wishes. I'll keep updating this as things progress more.

Gotta love base traffic when everyone wants to go home for the day, and you decided to tag a full size Silverado at that. Whelp, I'd say it's time for an upgrade once the insurance writes it off.

That's right Camp Lejeune - F*** You!

Best part, it was off base! I was in the left lane and a bus was just ahead and in the right lane. The guy never saw me and thought he was clear when the bus passed....tried to buggie across traffic to make his left turn.

Looks gnarly man, glad you hear you walked away though. I take my kids for rides in mine often and it's good to know these are built for safety as well.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone. Yeah it's sad to see this. The body guy thinks it will be repairable, or at least the guys insurance will say it is. Even if it is repaired I doubt it will ever be the same afterwards and of course we will see what his insurance trys to offer me for diminished value.
