Yep, me too... What sucks is I knew better! I had heard from the forum not to do that. I put the wipers up to wash them and thought to myself "Now, don't raise the hood till you put them down." Had them up for a few minutes - got distracted and thought - "I need to clean that pollen out from under the hood..." and that was that.

I had parked in a friends carport, went to get out my pistol ( we had been to the range ) and the drivers door went just past the first detent and tapped the carport center post. The weight of the door left a little dimple in the very center of the drivers door. I was going to get a paintless dent repair, but decided I would probably do a lot worse to it. Two years later I can still see it everytime I wax it. Got it to drive it !

Adjusting the distributor on a 1980's pile when the pretzel wrench got across something hot and I spot welded a sliver ring I was (not supposed to be) wearing to the engine block.
I was able to kill the engine by rotating the distributor til it killed. Since I was young and bulletproof, I was working alone. I had to reach over with my foot and tip over the shelf I had some tools on to get to a pair of snips. Shelf hit the car and left a big gash in the quarter but at that point I didn't care. Took another 15 minutes to maneuver the cutters into place and cut the ring. You think I would have learned about rings from the time when I was 8 and caught a ring that I was wearing on my right hand ring finger while climbing over a fence on the way home from school. Didn't feel the ring catch the bent over pieces at the top of the chain link fence and jumped off. Skinned my finger completely. Took almost 2 years to grow back.. Crazy Kids... |

I just remembered another time where it was hot in the summer and I was installing something on the 1LE. So I brought out a fan and set it next to the car (too close). I then had to open the door for something and forgot all about the fan being next to the door and it was a white fan and AGM paint (you get the picture.) Now I have 2 nice little white chips/marks that will not buff out...

Don't be in a hurry and trying to reverse in the blind spot mobile! By the time the sensors started beeping it was to late to stop her from the bang.
I promptly had it fixed with a band aid until she went into surgery

When I put mine away for storage, I like to tuck it as closely as possible to the wall (concrete) so its further out of the way for the winter.
Well, I went ahead and opened the door like normal this year and smacked the edge against the wall. Luckily the door edge guard film I have on it saved me, though the film looks a little scuffed.
