I put double sided tape on mine and stuck it on the under side of the console lid.

I added the homelink garage door opener to my 1SS. Bought the overhead console from a gm parts supplier, with homelink, and got a wiring harness from gen5diy. Cost a couple hundred bucks but was worth it in the long run, for me.

https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/...melink-harness

or they sell the whole kit

Amazon and get it programmed. Mine is double sided tape on passenger side upper windshield. This move was dumb from Chevy.

This does not work with a 2019 ZL1... they used the power for the rear camera rear view mirror

I don't understand, my 18 ZL1 has homelink installed. Do some not?

The 2019 does not, it was replaced with the camera rear view mirror

That’s Chevy spouting BS to cover some moron in Marketing’s decision to take it out.

The Corvette has it in the driver’s sun visor and has the rear view display mirror ... no power issues.

yep very stupid of them to take out something most people use every day. i have the data recorder, (instead of the rear view mirror camera) which is very cool but im sure they could have figured a way to keep them both...

Well I haven’t researched it, but if a corvette sun visor fits, you could swap one in. (I know that is not the point)

Very disappointing to hear this. I was just leaning towards a 19 instead of a slightly used 18. Maybe not now....

Stupid cost cutting decision.

Small and inconsequential as it may seem, there are people who neither want to replace their garage door openers with the latest centralized big brother remote access tech, nor are keen to fish out their phones just to open the garage.

The same people typically also like physical buttons that require no diversion from focusing on that last turn, possibly with oncoming traffic. To me, the lack of homelink integration would be a dealbreaker.

If the ZL1 1LE doesn't have the rear camera mirror, could a 2019 ZLE add the kit for homelink?
