clutch went out

Just dropped my car of at the dealer. The clutch would only engage at the floor. Car has 4000 miles on it. Will this be covered under warranty? I need to be ready to deal with the stealership.

It should be. I had the same issue on an M6 V6 back in 2010 and the dealer fixed it. Ended up being loose flywheel bolts off the assembly line.

Could be as simple as a hydraulic leak.

Seems like more of a physical issue and not normal wear and tear. Generally they don't warranty the clutch itself but any trans issue should be covered. Especially that that mileage

If the clutch wore prematurely due to another component, would they fix it?

They still have it. They changed a part they have a bulletin on? They then decided it needs a slave cylinder. Should be done tomorrow.

Master Slave Cylinder? If so, then it is 100% covered under the 5Yr. PTW
Small issue.

Car is fixed. No charge. It ended up being the master slave cylinder. They also re-routed some lines per GM bulletin.
Good to go.

Master cylinder is on the firewall.
Slave cylinder is in the bell housing.

I'm guessing it was the slave cylinder.

My bad. Slave cylinder. Eldi confused me. I thought he was correcting me. I didn't say master until he mentioned it.

BTW. Clutch seems a little smoother than it originally did.

Actually the clutch parts are under the 3yr/36k bumper to bumper, the powertrain will not cover it after the 3y/36k period.

The powertrain warranty only covers the physical engine, transmission and rear end. None of the ancillary stuff or any sensors.
