Is shipping wheels/tires feasible? How?

Hey folks. I've got some wheels and tires for sale and have had several people ask me about possible shipping. I'm open to the idea but am curious about how feasible it is? Tires are currently mounted, so I assume I probably can't box them up. How would you recommend packaging them? Cardboard over the wheel faces and lots of plastic wrap? Is there a particular carrier that is better for larger items like this? Would appreciate some advice if anyone has had a good experience shipping wheels. Thanks!

Tire rack does cardboard circles on either side with a bunch of straps. Strapping tape would probably work too.

I've shipped wheel/tire combos a few times with no issues. I put 2-3 layers of cardboard over the wheel face then tape the heck of them. Use more tape than you think is necessary. I've found FedEx Ground to be cheaper than UPS.

Thanks! Sounds like the cardboard and plastic wrap is the way to go. I'm getting one wrapped up so I can weigh it and shop costs.

When Ive been in that spot, as a person vice a company like Tire Rack, the cost's are too high to ship them. I did have a guy buy some tires from me, sent me UPS labels and had them picked up at my residence, worked like a charm, he paid for it and I cut him a great deal for making my life easier.
The cost is between you and him but if you're going to eat it out of your sale price then god bless ya.
Ive really only found tires and wheels feasible when it's a local deal.
