Stinger & Spider Stripes on ZL1? (pic inside)

Yes or No?

(I think it should be easy to do - just fold the unused part of the stripes and trim the excess in front of the hood dome.)

Nothing wrong with stripes on a vert, and those look pretty good!

Stock cut vinyl won't wrap the hood heat extractor very well (it will splay from that angle unless custom cut). I recommend PPF on our cars, which will not play well with vinyl decals. So I'd have 'em painted on, then do PPF on top. Not terrible on only 3 panels: hood, trunk and tonneau. But cost is probably 10x that of custom vinyl.

Yeah, probably trim it at the edges rather than wrap the angles under the heat extractor. No plans for PPF anywhere on top of stripes, just front bumper, windshield, and mirrors.

I like the center stinger stripe, it accentuates the cowl

I'm trying to determine if the measurements are close enough to put the stripe on a ZL1:

I have ppf on my hood with the vinyl stripes over. Been on for 3 years thru washings and wax jobs, as good as new. All my vinyl is wrapped over all edges with no issues. I don't like when they stop the stripes short of the edge seeing OEM paint.

Original poster should have no problem with his install done correctly. I like his idea.

I'd suggest buying knifeless tape and doing it that way.

That's a good suggestion, especially for the center stinger stripe. I may buy pre-cut spear/spider stripes since they have a unique varying curve to them. ...See if I can find a shop to do the stinger with knifeless tape and then add the pre-cut spears.

I'm now leaning toward maybe going with Gloss White in the center, if I can pull it off:

I like this idea.. i might copy this myself. I am caught between something like this or wrapping the hood insert white.

Looks great. I haven't done mine yet, but convinced that something like this is the kind of look GM should have done for this last iteration of the ZL1.
