I would assume he is using something like the JL FiX. I'm not sure the AudioControl LC7 has enough granularity in the configuration to make that possible.
I would be interested in confirming this though since I am about to pull the trigger on a setup that I have been piecing together for a while now and have the JL FiX as part of it. I wouldn't mind saving $200 if the LC7 can do the job for less. |

No, it's not. That's one of the BCM's.

The dsp is the arc audio PS8. I did not do the install myself but i am fairly certain only the front speaker outs from the head unit are feeding the dsp, which then drives all the speakers in the car. I am not saying that the effect is co pletely gone but it is minimized to where i dont notice it that much. |

There is no amp. And it is NOT behind plastic panel in back. You have to have the LC7.

There is no amp in a 1LE. Maybe this will help as it has been discussed many times.

I see a lot of back and forth crap on this subject so I'm here to put an end to it. The 1LE's do have an amplifier. the head unit itself cant power the stock speakers because it has signal lines on the back of it. For those of you who don't know what that means, it means this. Its sending a signal to an amplifier and that that goes to the speakers. I just installed a JL Audio FIX 86 in my car last night. The factory amplifier on the 6 gen 1LE camaro is behind the passenger glove box. PERIOD. I don't have pics because I was just thinking about doing my work but there you go. STOP asking where its at or just mentioning places of where you think its at. Its behind the glove box. No in the trunk or near the right rear speaker, none of that crap. The computer in the trunk on the 1LE is for the Magnetic ride control. I mover it the the drivers side rear quarter panal out of the way so that I can fit my two amps in the rear campartment.

The link posted directly above your reply has the answer I got directly from a friend at GM last July. The 1SS 1LE doesn't have an *external* amplifier, what you found is called the "radio tuner", and has the high-level speaker outputs from it's built-in chip-amp.

If you watch NAV-TV's video starting at point 1:08 you will be able to see the tuner box and the area in which it is usually located in most GM vehicles (obviously including our cars).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=1ud3lRElaxA BtW, this M650-GM device is quite powerful and apparently won a IASCA award on a Cadillac demo vehicle recently. It incorporates an advanced TI (Burr&Brown) DA-C |
