COPO 6th gen

Saw a COPO 6th gen at the track. Had the 350 supercharged. They have a parachute so they must be expecting the cars to go fast. Dash looked like ours but they put racing gauges in it. Hood scoop open at the rear, I could see the supercharger while I talked to the driver briefly. Only saw 1 pass from afar, sounded weird like he may have pedaled it early, anyway the ET was a 9.1

The supercharged 350's usually run 8.20's and a couple have run in the teens. At Gateway I think the winning Copo went 8.16@160+

Pretty much all the COPO's come with chutes. Our 2014 COPO #17 427 NA run's 9.60's and is has a chute.

I believe the current record to date from a 350 w/ the 2.9L whipple (remaining within class restrcitions) is 8.11 or 8.109. Something like that, they trap ~160's.

Even the n/a 427's run 8's.

If I'm not mistaken anything quicker than 9.99 or over 150mph the NHRA rules require a parachute be mounted.

I had my supercharged 350 out a few weeks ago for the first time at island dragway, got 3 runs on it and down to a 9.4 @154, I was holding off a bit getting a feel for the car and how it hooked up. Also we don't have our 2 step wired up yet(it has a 2 step in the holley EFI but they don't ship them with any way to activate it, we have to set that up ourselves however we want to do it whether connected to a brake pressure sensor or what ever else), were going to do that setup and a few other changes over the winter. Planning on heading to Atco one day next week to get some more seat time in it and hopefully get it racing in the spring.

The parachute comes default with the supercharged 350, it's included with options with the other engine combos. The car should be able to hit the 8.6's or 8.5's as is. The current record at an NHRA event I believe is Dave Barton at 8.07 @165 last year with a 2015 supercharged 350. To get to those speeds people do a bit more to it, new blueprinted engine, new trans, new gears, etc.

They are mopping the Stangs this year, I think Copo has won all of them in NMCA Super Car Class. Barton used to build Hemi's but now he is dedicated to the COPO's which is awesome. I'd love to have one and would if I wasn't almost 66 years old. I love the way they wheel stand to about 60-100 feet out. Shit load of power for sure. Glad your getting seat time, enjoy have 1300 hp under the hood.

Legit. Re-sleeving the stock block?

Saw the car again the other day for 1 run. Did not sound weird early like last time but the result was 9.2 and this time I could see the bottom of the board too, 150mph.
