Absolute geniuses out there...

Had a guy inform me this morning my car had a blown head gasket.

Me - really, how did you know?

Him - because there's water dripping from those holes in the mufflers that factory puts in for that reason, ya know, in case you do happen to blow a head gasket.

Huh.

So what's your opinion, you think I've got a blown head gasket?

Just remember. You can't fix stupid. And you might lose a few brain cells trying to argue with it. While I would enjoy educating such a person, it would be FAR easier just to say, ok, man, I'll check it out.

The worst part is that he likely learned that from someone else. Stupid is contagious, so be careful!

I mean it could be, but likely is just morning condensation. Some people just want to look smart and/or put down someone's ride.

I hate when that happens! Of course its condensation because when the engone is 1st started the exhaust pipes are cold so the warm moist exhaust hit the cold popes and the moisture falls out. Once the pipes are warmed up it no longer can happen hence no more water dripping out of the factory drain holes. Blown head gasket would cause green or orange colored water and most likely not go away as the engine-pipes warm up.

Oh boy, that's a riot!! Some of these folks are REALLY entertaining when it comes to what could be wrong with our cars!! Like the stand up comedian Dan White and the guys above said, ya just can't fix stupid!!! Ya just say thanks and walk away. I had a guy at a show tell me my Camaro needed a tune up bad because it was running rough and the engine was "shaking" a lot!! Oh well. lol

Takes all kinds! When I bought my first 5th gen Camaro, I remember telling an old friend of mine about it. When I mentioned it was an SS/RS car, he laughed and said which one is it? An SS or RS? When I tried explaining to him that it was both, he simply wouldn't believe it. He insisted that it was two different trim packages and that I was mistaken. He's owned quite a few hot rods over the decades and does know *some* things, so I was surprised at his lack of knowledge here.

I can't remember who said it, but it something goes along the lines of, "A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.". hahaha

It's astounding how many people don't realize the RS is only a package. Guy on TikTok was ragging on me for having a V6, somebody asked him what he drove & his response was "I have an SS unlike his little RS"

Sorry to hear this. If you’d like I can give you $100 and scrap the car for you. Just trying to be helpful.

I didn't even realize I had those holes until I was trying to tune my cold starts. I basically started cold two or three times a day for about a week. When I moved the car, there was watery black sooty spots under the mufflers. LOL. I'm glad I found that out.
