I'm beginning to think this as well even though the vette clearly doesn't need anymore power. I think GM is remaining tight lipped until later this year so they don't negatively impact '17 z06 sales.

What would be really sweet is if they bump the z06 hp and match it with the zl1's. Both around 670ish?

670ish would be awesome. Still not sure if the hellcat will see a jump. If I had to guess we will see the hellcat go up in HP as crazy as it sounds.

I doubt the HC will get a bump because there's nothing out there right now to challenge that 707 number. There have been rumors floating around that the '18 gt500 may be awd and crank out 750+hp.

Again, pure speculation, but it would take something like this to act as the catalyst for the HC hp increase. And even if that happens, it's not going to make the dodge any faster off the line without them addressing traction control.

and GT500 rumored twin turbo V8 + AWD. no thanks. if so, interesting i suppose. Not sure how either will sit with the traditionalists.

Yeah a AWD GT500 would piss off a lot of people I would imagine. I wouldn't want a AWD camaro just not in the camaro's DNA.

Guess i'm a bit different I would completely love an AWD camaro or even gt500. Shoot give me one like Ken Blocks AWD mustang and i'll be happy for a loooong time. Although I know a lot of pureists would absolutely hate that. I think if mustang or camaro wanted to totally dominate the track then they would have made an AWD by now.

These AWD GT500 rumors coming from the splined hubs(?) found on the GT350? I thought that had been squashed as simply a cost saving feature.

The ZL1 had spines up front, too...was the strongest part they had available...off of their HD trucks.

I believe in the GT350's case they were designed for the GT350 first (being aluminum and lightweight) however they're likely intended for another purpose on another vehicle that is potentially BASED on the S550 platform, like the rumored Lincoln.

It was mentioned in the Vette forum that the Corvette team and Camaro team had worked on the LT4 changes together. I have no proof only that it had been mentioned. It could mean both more power and better cooling. The Corvette Bash is this weekend so we should hear something soon.

Yeah hopefully we will hear something soon. Pricing should be coming as well.

these cars are kind of apples vs oranges honestly. hellcat is a fun car but its handling will not be on par at all. it was not near as good as 5th gen zl1.

lots of power for as stock car though.

I really liked the hellcat but at the same time for a toy car I would rather have a tick better handling. there are elements of the car I like way better than what the camaro are mustang are offering but at the same time it's heavy and not as balanced.

the GT350 or Zl1 are going to be way funner in every way on a road with a bend in it.

with the hellcat you cater to the my dads tougher than your dad personality by offering the most HP. there are still quite a few people out there that like that.

I am still waiting for the lines of the camaro to hit me. I mean when I look at the new zl1 it is not my favorite looks wise it should pretty much smash the competition in performance though.

Hellcat will stay with the advertised 707hp. The hp could have been higher but they had issues with the emissions tests. They had to limit it. You won't see any changes if anything until 2018 which will be minimal at best. Challenger the way we see it today is almost at the end of its cycle. Dodge did exactly what they wanted to do. Make the most powerful muscle car to date.

The Hellcat doesn't need more power, it needs to be more efficient at putting the power to the pavement and and lose a bunch of weight, if they can do that, it will be pretty much unstoppable.
