New Camaro Build

Hey Everyone I am pretty new to the form and have been looking up as much as I can but wanted some straight forward advice. Hopefully I am in the right area. I am planning on ordering a 2022 2SS. The plan with the car is to be a fun street car with occasional drag strip time, but I am not going for any records. I do plan to twin turbo the car. The car will be A10. My reasoning for turbo is just to do something different. I see more supercharged camaros then anything and the ZL1 is an amazing car but like the price tag off the ss and I would be redoing everything on the zl1 anyway. My main question that I can't seem to find an answer to is on the suspension side. Is it worth getting the 1le for the suspension upgrades or better to get the standard suspension and upgrade that. The only thing I really want to avoid or eliminate is wheel hop which I found the section on that so I know what I need to do there. Just comes down to if magna ride is worth it for daily driving and occasional drag racing I believe. Thanks for any input and sorry if this type of question has already been discussed.

I may be a little slow today, but as per your signature you have a 2020 ZL1 and now want to buy a 2022 2SS? Why? If I already had a 2020 ZL1, I would definitely not want to downgrade to a 2SS.

Apart from that, my usage of the car is similar to yours, I do not have the 1LE package (although I did upgrade the wheels+tires), but added the BMR rear cradle lockout kit to eliminate some sideways play in the suspension, and the car is perfect, there is no wheel hop that I can sense.

Magnetic ride control is a very good option, but it's hard to tell if someone else would want it... in my personal opinion variable ride firmness is very valuable, worth the option cost, especially for daily driving.

When I registered for the form which was maybe 2 weeks ago it asked what car I have and I didn't see an option for in the market type of thing. I have a client with a 20 ZL1 that I drive on occasion so that is what I am most familiar with. I originally was going to get a zl1 but there is a chance I will strip the car and make it just a track car in the future and I cant justify spending around 60k to end up stripping it. My thought was the 2ss gives me most of the features and if I decide not to strip the car I still have the features. That is the main reason for the ss model over the zl1.

Thank you for your feedback, yea I love the zl1 with the magnaride. I just wasn't sure if the ss was very similar as far as the magnaride goes.

Got it and makes sense, thanks except maybe the plan to strip out the car, because in that case I'd just buy the new LT1 trim (V8) with few options. Paying for 2SS creature comforts, then discarding them to save weight is a bit strange, but then again, no judgments from me—look at my sig, I also keep hearing about how silly it is not to buy a ZL1 but supercharge an SS instead.

That said, considering that the ZL1 1LE's best Nürburgring lap time was set by a GM engineer with the AC set to 62° and blasting cold air, stripping the backseat seems enough

MRC for the 2SS is very close to the ZL1, suspension components are not exactly the same, but I don't have enough seat time in ZL1s to make a call on the difference.

Again, if you do not intend to track the car, you will probably not miss the electronic diff and sophisticated performance traction management modes in the 1LE. These two cannot be retrofitted into the standard SS, but everything else the 1LE has can, and wheels+tires make the biggest difference anyway.
