SS gas mileage getting worse over time?

I noticed today while cruising on the highway in my SS 1LE that my gas mileage is getting worse. It has 2200 miles on it now. It seems like after I first bought it I was easily able to hit 28-30mpg average on the highway driving 65. Now, I struggle to hit 22 doing the same exact thing, same highway.
I changed the oil at 1000 miles and then did one track day (not pushing too hard). Still has that oil in it. Oil life meter reads 82%. Has this happened to anyone else?

Same fuel? Might need to clean the valves already, if the oil issue without a catch can is especially bad.

Your area might be on winter blend gas already being that you're in WA. I know when they do the changeover here my mileage drops a lot.

Yes, fuel changeover starts in September in most parts of the country. Also may be a right foot problem. That's what I have.

After 1500 miles I was able to go into the "fun zone". The "fun zone" burns more gas.

Or you are getting more comfortable with the car, so your foot is getting heavier

28 - 30 was probably some kind of error or something else with the calculations going on in the first 1000 miles. 22 is pretty good, if it maintains that. It will probably average down to 18 - 20, which is still good. The expected mpg for the LS3 and LT1 reported by GM is not accurate in my opinion. I guess it is under lab conditions.

My Gen 5 2015 SS was 17.8 mpg reported average after 14k and my 2018 SS with 148 miles is showing 22 mpg. I would not care unless it dropped below 17 mpg. I calculated the miles driven versus gallons used in the Gen 5 a few times and the computer was accurate. As long as you are not adding oil between changes, you should be good. I never tracked my Camaro, so I can't see how that would make a difference, but it could I guess.

It's about time someone is honest about this.

People here are reporting the SS is a 30 - 35 MPG sports car on average and that is far from true. On average its a 20 street - 25 highway MPG car.

Serious question, why go from a V6 to a V8 if you drive it gently enough to get "30-35" mpg? Thats gotta be, at best, 20% throttle at all times.

The only way i get 30 mpg is at 58 mph in 6th.

I get 24 mpg at 80. My time is worth more than 6 mpg....

26.92 MPG was the best hand-calculated gas mileage I've gotten on a 504.7 Mile tank of gas and that was BABYING it. I'm also a proficient hypermiler and have had several years of experience driving cars this way and have modified a couple of vehicles to hit over 70 MPG in the past, so I know what I'm doing.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not buying the whole 30-35 MPG claims made by some on here with an LT1.

Yup, right foot problem here...

Best 50 miles to get 32.3 was downhill with the wind, approximately 60 mph the whole time... any faster and it drops. (1SS A8).

7.6mpg was um... more fun.

I'm pretty sure I can hit well over 60 mpg in my SS M6. We have some looooong hills here in CO.

OP, from what I've read you typically get less mpg before it breaks in, the earlier reading may have been in error, idk.
