I'm thinking of doing the Whipple and the kaytech DI pump vs a cam lobe for extra fuel.. I like the stock cam.. after 4 cam'd cars I'm over the chop. I've been talking to Ted at Janetty Racing about there smooth idle cam I may do that if I do one.

Believe me I want to so bad my car parks between the lift everyday at work.. things have slowed at work since the Houston open is next October vs in April we won't have to overseed the course and has free'd up a lot of my time. then I think I'll do it next week and keep putting it off cause I enjoy driving it so much like it is.

I keep telling myself I need another 100 to 150 and I'll be happy.. but I'm not sure I wouldnt want more after that lol..

Great thread, thanks for putting it up. Have you got the 1-7/8" or 2" headers? Do they fit without rubbing or issues? KR cirpower

1 7/8.. I've heard that kooks had a bad run and some TSP.. I think its hit or miss since its tight. Nothing a hammer and torch cant fix. I also think 1 7/8 will be more boot friendly 1st and 3rd cylinder unless that's the even side.

Thank you! Great thread. Am seriously thinking about going that same route as you, but unfortunately I don't have the skills and tools to do my own work...

I can count numerous times where myself or wife had a flat and needed help since we dont run runflats several have brought us a tire off there car or spare..and we do the same vice versa. I've help many member install springs, headers, and other parts.. hopefully you can find some handy people in a club aswell. Ps leave the tuning for the pros!

Thanks, I am new to the country and I did find a Camaro Club in KC that I just signed up to.

Keep us posted on progress of your car, great to see someone going your way doing work themselves .

If only Vararam would come out with this airbox, I would buy it straight away...

You also have a build thread for the 2650? I would be interested to read it.

It took a 6 or 7 hours mainly because I made a puller and didn't know the brace on the bottom could be removed easily. So I wasted serious time welding up a puller and and removing valve covers on pass side and wasted time just looking and scoping it out. Also a little slow up was removing the fan unit carefully and reinstalling to allow the puller to slide on and the use of a big air tool. Another hitch was getting the crank bolt off. My compressor at work is a long ways the from the bay so by the time the air reaches my gun it had about 80 psi. I had to go over to the unit and hold the contacts and build up more pressure once I did that the crank bolt came right off. If you use the fly wheel tool that keeps the motor from turning it would cut down time.

I guess I could do it in 4 hours now maybe less now.

There was absolutely no help posted anywhere or directions no lethal garage nada zippo zilch.

I laugh everytime is see jdp or other out fits charge 5 to 6k for this. Ya maybe there headers are more but not that much more. Plus the headers have held so far and now I'm past 1000 rwhp.

EDFHOBBIES, thanks for all your help. I just put a set of 2" TSP headers on and it went pretty smooth. I did end up lifting up the motor in the pass side about an inch. With the nut of the motor mount just sitting there staring me in the face - it was simple and the header just slid right in.

Did you worry any about the pass side header being so close to the brake line that runs down the frame rail? There is maybe 1/4" of space between the header and the brake line. Do you think there is any cause or concern?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
