Was looking at the Texas Speed website, the only full length headers they have for 599 are the non-cat ones. The ones with cats are 899. Still not a bad deal.

What kind of mpg are you getting? Not that it matters, I'm just curious.
Also, how is does the factory clutch handle the extra power?

Thanks.

The gas milage is the same but I find myself wanting to race more lol.. clutch is fine so far have not thrown drag tires on it yet.. I'm sure if drag tires were on it and tires aren't allowed to slip it be short lived just like every other car.

Good to know the car can handle the extra power without a problem. Thanks for the info!

Can I ask why you decided to go with the lower set up instead of the upper?

I asked 2 very good tuners.. they said why risk any belt slippage all we do is lower. . Also I planned to do a whipple or Maggi so the bottom pulley is done and compatible with all systems. And lastly I did it myself I didn't want to mess with antifreeze all over the shop, or bleeding the system not that i couldn't do it or using a press to take off the pulleys since it the front snout has to be removed to take pulley off. Believe it or not it was easier..

I think im gonna pull blower and heads and have them ported I may even do the cam..

You were late to the party.. I got lucky apparently whipple ordered some from ATI and the shipment was lost. A unclaimed freight posted 15 of them on ebay now they are gone. That's still a good price..

I got a $378 shipped version from Summit racing with the 15% ebay coupon they had the other day.

However I ended up getting the 8.6" (8% Overdrive) pulley instead since i dont plan on running headers.

I am not getting alot of information when searching on what belt to use with the Stock upper 2.5" pulley and the 8.6" Lower pulley.

If you used the GATES Greenback k080845HD with your 9.1". Mine belt should use a slightly shorter belt. The next size shorter is the K080842HD belt. It is only 3/8" shorter. The circumference difference between your 9.1 and my 8.6 is (.5 inches x 3.14159) or about 1.57". If you subtract that off your k080845HD size its about the size as factory which is the next size under the K080842HD belt. So it appears the factory size might work, maybe????

So does anyone have an idea on what belt I should get. It appears that running just a lower 8.6" pulley with stock upper is not a common combination. Its about the same blower speed as the 2.3" upper though.

If you did lower pulley why didn’t you do a Cam while you were down there?

Maybe because doing a lower pulley isn't even close to doing the amount of work a cam swap requires?
