TPMS

Was wondering which tpms you guys are running in you aftermarket wheels. OEM or aftermarket. I can only find aftermarket ones that will work with the 2010-2015 Camaro's. If someone can post a link where they got their tpms I would appreciate it.

Amazon has them 50-60 bucks for the set 433Mhz, I got a spare set for my 17 1SS and they worked well.

Oops, yours is a 2020 model. Can't see anything on RockAuto for your year yet, but for my car they've got them for about 40 bux. I can't imagine you needed a set for your 2020, until about eight years from now tho.

I doubt anything changed from 2018 to 2020

I bought these from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081F1JX26

They have GM Part numbers on them, but when you hold them next to a real OEM sensor you can tell it's a knockoff. They are actually being installed in my aftermarket wheels tomorrow, so... uhh, I guess we'll see how they work. $55 for the whole set seems like a good deal if they actually work right.

The OE sensor is https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...5400&jsn=10448

Ya I dunno if I'm going to risk buying an aftermarket set of tpms. It would suck if they stopped working after like a year and you have to pay to unmount and get new sensors. I dunno. It's tempting though.

These are primarily AutoX wheels, so there will be ~3 sets of tires cycling through them this season. If they fail, I’ll just ditch them and run normal valve stems.

Meh ya then who cares what you are running. If they fail then you'll just have a light on the dash. Keep me posted on how they are.

Just following up on this. Those generic sensors worked just fine. They paired easily and seem to report correct-looking numbers. I have not taken a PDR log to see if the temperature function is also valid.

One word of warning, a friend also bought the same set and one of his sensors was DOA. Maybe he is an outlier, or maybe I just got lucky?

I picked up the AC Delco's from rock auto. About $40 each I think - not cheap. And I found out those did not come with the nuts that hold them in place on the wheel. that is a separate PN and specific to the car - this model sensor is used in various cars. I bought the nuts from a local dealer and they had to ship them out from MI. Doesn't seem like a stocked item and I could not find them on rock auto or other on-line sources.

Don't know which ones I got, but I did some searches and found some chevy ones on the same mhz with temp sensors for $60 for 4 and....they worked! Made a post about it a long time ago.

I'm the one who got one of the sensors DOA. It was cheaper to buy another set of four than to deal with the issue any other way. It's possible I over tightened it so I'll check it when I swap it out sometime this week.

I got my second set. Another 1 DOA but I finally got 4 working ones on the car last night. On the drive to work today one of them lost connection to the car. I'm going to say I wouldn't recommend these.
