Turbo "momentum" between M6 shifts

Hi guys I looked around to try and better educate my self so I could sound a little informed maybe get farther along.. M6 with a tune. I would say its a 5 out of 6 on the, ahemm, race chip scale. Lets assume its a moderately high boost increase, everything else factory.

So I find when I am pushing hard really the only shift point of concern, from 1-2 that the engine continues to "spin up" between shifts. What kind of process is it that causes what I am assuming is the air charge to keep the engine winding while the throttle plate is closing. Which I am picturing like the good old spring loaded slam shut.

Could it be the return rate of the throttle plate is slower, I wonder? Maybe that's programed to close slowly under high boost so as not to not over charge the intake and cause bad things.

So my question is more than just throw parts at it (BOV), which I will gladly do but need a code free solution. People must have dealt with this and not ended up code bound. BTW There happens to be a more definite swoosh sound in these conditions at throttle let off.

It might not be as apparent on AT cars. But try stopping your car at this similar juncture.

Thank you in advance for educated ideas. Or pointers to other turbo forums.

Have you ever tried NLS (no lift shifting)?

NO!!!!!!??

Does the LS support that?

I have by curiosity tested changing gears on cruise control and it just complies with no throttle work.

I don't think mine has it. :(
checking resources..... I think its a premium pkg feature on other years.
2018 only has the "LS" as far as I know.

It probably does have it. It's a pita to get it to do it though. Pedal to the floor, shift after 6000 RPM, don't hesitate, don't lift up. Almost impossible to get your brain to do it.

Ahh. But at 6k what is the point? My sweet spot is way before 6k, even to hit 3rd before 60 mph.

And exactly what is a JacFab Boost-O-Lator High Performance Re-Circulation Valve? Is that on the intake side or where? Any BOV (recirculating) obviously it seems will need coding work.

Would be nice to have ala carte code tweakers (in-a-box), Anyone? I bet there's a market.

When you're tuned, the drop off is at 5500-6000 RPM. Huge difference. When you get NLS right it's awesome.

The recirculation valve is the internal bypass valve on the actual turbo. The stock valve leaks boost. The JacFab/BNR valve is sealed air tight and doesn't leak any boost. It doesn't need tuning to work. But when tuning with it, its incredible.

My LS has the NLS. It's freaking awesome. It actually works at 5000 RPM. Makes the shift so quicker and the feeling so awesome. Never really tested it to its max potential as it is illegal on the roads, but I hope I'll have the chance to do it one day!

Exactly. You're going to end up in someone's front lawn.
